Frames 04:23
A solitary night Where the memories are tapes and the child is dead Frames watching the world go by Like a season ever changing Reflections of another time It's time for me to start over It's time for me to start over... Get in the car Drive away from this place I used to know To know the distance of where I'll go The sound of an engine Breaks the silence across the countryside Start it up again And drive away I know it was so long ago When you looked back at me with a flame in your eye Whose eyes did I see? A blank face of the person I used to be Some settle for sometimes less than more More often than not you reached for the door An escape to a place I never knew Get in the car Drive away from this place I used to know To know the distance of where I'll go The sound of an engine Breaks the silence across the countryside Start it up again And drive away

I'm going to walk downtown through the alley square With nothing but my thoughts Sucking smoke just to clear the air Feeling the rough lines etched upon my face Time has had its toll On a life I can't erase Pull back again into the bar To find my real friends The ones who kill the pain Know it's my only say I know you've played your games I'm not your toy It's not about you Get out of my head, there's no tomorrow Giving up the future we tried to bend Tearing up the pictures of this toxin filled Hell No preservation You've got me ensnared Prey to rattlesnakes I was unaware, tempted by the bait Clutching my head in my hands My knees give away I struggle to stand And I'm looking at you I'm looking at you I can feel your poison seep into my skin Suck the venom out with my tainted lips No, you're the only one I know as I taste the gun I'm not your toy It's not about you Get out of my head, there's no tomorrow Giving up the future we tried to bend Tearing up the pictures of this toxin filled Hell No preservation

Winter 03:53
Slipping back to that old, tired winter When fires smoldered and lacked the heat To warm our hands... to warm our feet... But we kept living without a care And we breathed the cold season In our rhythm we seemed to share Only you... only me... If only it were back again We are... We are... Children of winter that will fill our hearts We love... Freedom... We could go back again... back again... The frost was biting at the window pane Blowing winds shook the trees outside But we were lost in our own lullabies Our own... Our own... Home, now alone... Winter passed as we grew old If only it were back again

Horizons 04:58
We could fly to the setting sun Holding the heat between ourselves And dream of those days When our love was enough Chasing our own different horizons Painting the sky with a different blue And fearing the change Of a life without you And in the clouds I see you now Cutting the weights that tie you down Floating away into distant space Will I still know your name? I see it's bad, you can't carry your soul I know it's hard to face the darkened days alone Tell me something before you drown in smoke A fleeted love to pass the time Prison bars and spirits take you every night Hands holding a heart pierced by knives The light fades for a dying star Black holes and dead space between our hearts Departed planets covered in dark Wither away with the changing seasons Feel the leaves as they fall to the ground The world is silenced There's not a sound And in the clouds I see you now Cutting the weights that tie you down Floating away into distant space Will I still know your name? I see it's bad, you can't carry your soul I know it's hard to face the darkened days alone Tell me something before you drown in smoke A fleeted love to pass the time Prison bars and spirits take you every night Hands holding a heart pierced by knives

Hello Hannah 03:52
No rest for the ocean No rest for my mind No chance at peace when you left me behind My feet touch the water's edge Too numb to feel the chilling knife I see your reflection now... that warm smile... If only I could hear your voice singing one last time... One last time... Hello Hannah won't you sing a song? Of soaring melodies and those words you used to love You said I don't understand... but I understand It's the wave to wash away the pain When you're feeling down When you lose the way In the dark, it's the light Keep it close, hold it tight Hello Hannah

about

This is the debut solo EP for Patrick Dal Cin.

The EP was recorded between February 2015 and April 2015 in Talbot College, room 345a.

Some final words from Patrick:

Inside this EP, you will find much of who I am as a musician. You will hear my influences, and you will hopefully hear the sentiment of changing futures and uncertainty. Different Horizons was a concept story I made between fictitious characters, that has fragments of what different possibilities in life might hold.

I always liked albums with many contrasting moments, and you will find that each song is drastically different than the rest! I hope you enjoy and appreciate the excellent performances that the other musicians have done!

I'd like to thank all of the incredible musicians who were a part of this recording process. Your contributions to the songs were an essential part of making the EP sound much better than I had ever hoped. Many of you had other commitments and schedules, and managed to find the time to come in and nail the material (usually on the first take!).

A big thanks to Josh Try, who dedicated his own time to help me transport gear in his vehicle and helped lend some ears to the audio engineering process.

An especially big thanks to Jay Hodgson, who gave me the opportunity to record in his space and make this EP possible as part of a school course project. He gave me an opportunity I would have never had otherwise, and has been on my bucket-list for a long time. Jay also mastered the EP and made it sound absolutely incredible!

And of course, I'd like to thank my family and friends who always support my very crazy endeavors into projects like these. Without you, I wouldn't have the motivation to keep pushing forward and becoming a better musician, songwriter and mix engineer!
